Speculations for the new Amazon tablet have already come on-key as Amazon finally debuted its new 10 inch Fire HD Tablet dubbed as Amazon Fire HD 10 2017. Although Fire HD 10 is relatively heavy and all plasticky but Amazon Fire tablets stand on top in the quest of budget friendly tablets. As usual, with 10.1-inch Full HD screen the tablet stands on a very reasonable price, but this time costs only $150, even more $80 cheaper than the entry-level predecessor.
Basically, there are two models of the new Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet on the basis of internal storage; A 32GB entry-level (Up from 16GB of the previous edition) and 64GB. Both models come with the support of up to 256GB microSD card. Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a 1.8 quad-core MediaTek processor. It features a 10.1-inch FHD display with 1920 x 1200p resolution, 2GB RAM, 2MP rear and 0.3MP front camera.
The connectivity features include full dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, a micro USB 2.0 port and 3.5mm audio combo jack. It came up with improvement of battery life from 8 hours to 10 hours. Upfront it has Dolby Atmos Acoustic dual speakers.
As usual, Amazon Fire HD 10 2017 arrives with the modified version of Android known as Fire OS 5 but with the addition of some more company-specific features. One of the new functionality is the hands-free Alexa, which if enabled can turn your tablet into screen Echo device. You can turn the lights off, open an app, play movies or audios, set timers and so on. Another feature is the addition of dynamic app launcher which let you access last activity from homescreen when you swipe to right.
Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet 2017 comes in black, blue and red color while customers can also seek a cover by paying $40 more. Like the other Fire HD tablets the $150 as base price contains the ads of Amazon’s “special offers”. However you can remove the ads with a one-time $15 fee.
