After a long while remained in the news, finally we have some reports related to the size and hardware area of Nintendo’s first ever gaming tablet, while most of the specs are said to be officially disclosed in the first month of next year.
Nintendo Switch Screen Size and display features
We came to know that the first ever Nintendo touchscreen tablet named Nintendo Switch will have 6.2-inch display size. The size of the device was already estimated as 6-7 inches according to images. Although 6-7 inch size of a gaming screen can only meet the perfect game playing environment when joysticks are on the side.
Nintendo Switch will have multitouch screen running at 720p resolution with 10-point multitouch display which means it will support multi-finger gestures. The reports says capacitive multitouch spec on the display device is a big achievement from pressure based single point touchscreenson DS and Wii U.
Nintendo Switch Hardware lineup
EuroGamer website recently released trailer video of Nintendo Switch showing a number of control methods. According to the video users will be able to play games in various ways including use of JoyCon controllers with the main docked unit, Attaching JoyCon to the Switch itself, and a number of multiplayer options.
However we can see in the trailer video that there’re no words on touchscreen and not showed players tapping on the screen. So it seems the focal point in the video is playing standard home console games on the go.
While there are several questions in the waiting to answer like how will the 10-point multi touchscreen will work, what would be with the Dock-Tablet combination and to what degree touchscreen will remain as optional feature?
Separately, Nintendo CEO, Tatsumi Kimishima in an interview suggested that the controllers along with the tablet are the parts of the Hardware lineup. He said about the Nintendo Switch controls and portable hardware; “It may be appropriate to call them accessories. Or it might be better to call them add-on hardware.” He further added, “It’s probably more correct to call them accessories. You can assume that there will be a wider array.”
