After reading this article you will be able to know how to use multiple android devices as additional speakers for a single android phone or tablet, or make a stereo sound system of android devices.

How to Make a Stereo Sound System with Multiple Android Devices

To make a stereo type Sound System with multiple android phones we will use three different apps. These apps come with similarities, additional features, and shortcomings. Every app have two parts, the player and the speakers. One device will play the music and others will be working as wireless speakers. If one app can only play audio files stored in local storage while other apps can also play them from internet. You can choose one which suites your need.

So let’s head over to those apps to use multiple android devices as additional speakers for a single android device or to make a combined android sound system.

Sound Seeder

This app comes with more features than any other app I tested. Not only you can play music to other devices but you can stream Radio and use your device as Mic input for other devices as well. You can also adjust the volume of all devices from the hosting device. So if you want to keep the access for volume control to the player device then it’s the best app.

It is divided into two parts, one for the main device named as player which will play music to other devices and other is speaker mode for receiver devices. There are three categories to choose from Player device; My Music to play music from your music library, Online Radio with thousands of stations and Mic/Aux for channeling your own voice to other devices.

First of all download the app from Google Play Store.

How it works:

  1. Connect all android devices over the same WiFi network.
  2. Open the SoundSeeder app on all your android devices. Free version supports two devices to connect.
  3. Now on device that you want to use as player, choose My Music from app menu and add the tracks that you want to play on other devices. I’m using Galaxy S6 as player and Lenovo Tab as Speakers. Player - Stereo Sound System with Android

  6. To play Radio on all devices choose Online Radio from app menu while for using player device as Mic for all device choose Mic/Aux.
  7. You can change default settings.

Chorus

Chorus app is more simple to use and it’s totally free. It has no ads on it, and I don’t know why they are providing completely free app. However, AVG on my tablet detected it as Malicious app at first scan then I reinstalled it and it was ok on second scan but after few days it is again detected as Potentially unwanted program. While Galaxy S6 was unable to detect any malicious object. So you can try it on your risk.

  6. Unlike SoundSeeder app, you can’t set volume of other devices from the player device in Chorus. This app doesn’t support Google Music, Network and Songs directly from the URL, you will have to depend on only Local storage. However it’s a totally free app and has simple interface.

AmpMe – Social Music Party

As the name shows, AmpMe – Social Music Party is more than playing music to devices only surrounding you under local network. It gives access to players over the internet. However, it will help you to create a powerful sound system with the help of android devices surrounding you over the Internet. But it doesn’t work on WiFi or Hotspot. All devices need to be connected with Internet.

Download the app from Google Play Store.

How it works:

  1. Connect all android devices to internet.
  2. Open the AmpMe app on all your android devices. It supports unlimited devices to join your music party. AmpMe - Stereo Sound System Android

  4. Below in the app home screen there are four icons showing Spotify, Youtube, Music Library, and SoundCloud. Now tap on any of these sources you want to play your favorite tracks. However you can play videos from YouTube as well. As the popup message by AmpMe says you need a good internet connection to host a party. AmpMe - Stereo Sound System AmpMe - Stereo Sound System with Android - Speaker
