What’s New in the Latest Apple iPad Pro 12.9?

At WWDC, Apple introduced two iPad Pros but 10.5-inch iPad Pro was given more attention. While this time an upgrade in the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro is not just a new processor and storage bumps that we usually see in iPad upgrade announcements. So, what’s new in the iPad Pro 12.9? The largest iPad Pro received some significant hardware upgrades which keep it par with the latest iPad Pro 10.5, a successor to 9.7-inch iPad Pro. Now iPad Pro 12.9 comes with the World’s Most Advanced Display (as Apple claims). 12.9 inch- iPad Pro now gets a True Tone Display, ProMotion Technology, and a Quad-LED True Tone flash. iPad Display Comparison

Apple has upgraded iPad Pro 12.9 processor to A10X and added a 512GB storage option. The A10X processor has ability to run the device 30% faster than the A9X Chip. It comes with iOS 11 which also has some iPad specific features.


Now, the price of the 64GB model is $799, while 256GB and 512GB models are priced at $899 and $1099, respectively, while cellular variants are $130 pricier. All models will be available from the next week. While the only difference regardless of size between the 10.5-inch and new 12.9-inch iPad Pros is that 10.5-inch can be purchased in Rose Gold while larger iPad Pro comes with this exception.

While, 12.9-inch iPad Pro other features and specifications includes a 12-core GPU built-in which ensures 40% faster performance when it comes to graphics. The 12.9-inch screen has resolution of 2732 x 2048p and 264 pixel per inch density. It features Fingerprint-resistant aleophobic coating. It comes with 12 Megapixel front camera which can record 4K HD video, and has 7 Megapixel front facing camera.

While 12.9-inch iPad Pro weighs 1.5 pounds, 0.5 pound heavier than 10.5-inch iPad Pro. It supports the Apple pencil and Smart Keyboard but as usual you need to buy these add-ons separately and doesn’t come in the box. You get only Apple Lightning to USB Cable and USB Power Adapter in the box along with 12.9 iPad Pro.
